Privacy Policy
Last updated August 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information BayQuote collects, how it's used, and who we share it with.
1. Information we collect
When you use BayQuote, we collect:
- Account information — your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Business information — your business name, address, contact details, and pricing.
- Customer information you enter — names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails of the customers you quote, along with the site photos, descriptions, and quotes you create.
- Billing information — handled directly by Stripe; we don't receive or store your card details.
2. How we use it
We use this information to:
- Provide and operate the Service, including generating AI-drafted estimates
- Send quote emails and account-related emails (like password resets) on your behalf
- Process subscription payments
- Maintain the security of the Service
3. Who we share it with
We share information with the third-party services that power BayQuote:
- Anthropic — site photos and descriptions you submit are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to draft line-item estimates.
- Resend — used to deliver quote emails and account emails.
- Stripe — used to process subscription payments.
- Twilio — used to deliver quotes by text message, if a business chooses that delivery option. Only the phone number needed to send that specific message is shared.
We don't sell your information or your customers' information to anyone.
4. Data storage and security
Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text). Session access is controlled through secure, expiring session tokens. Every business's data is isolated from every other business's data — no account can see another account's quotes, customers, or price book.
5. Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Your rights
You can update your business and account information directly in Settings. To request a copy of your data or full account deletion, contact us at the email below and we'll handle it directly.
7. Text messages (SMS)
If a business chooses to send a quote to their customer by text message, we use the phone number they entered to deliver that message through our SMS provider, Twilio. We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers with third parties for their own marketing purposes — phone numbers are shared only with Twilio, and only to deliver the message the business requested.
Message frequency depends on how many quotes are sent to a given number by text — typically one message per quote. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving text messages, or reply HELP for help.
8. Children's privacy
BayQuote is intended for business use and is not directed at anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
